Engines roar in Nay Aug Park for Father’s Day
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A charitable morning full of cars, family, and sunshine was the case for lots of dads in Lackawanna County this Father’s Day.
Hundreds came out to Nay Aug Park for the 30th annual Villa Capri Cruisers Car Club Father’s Day Car Show.
Generations of dads and their families showed up Sunday morning for what has become a tradition through the ages.
Bonding over roaring engines, sleek paint jobs, and the muscle car of every father’s dream.
“A perfect beautiful weather perfect day to come out, look at cars here with my son. I’m here with my father, so the perfect Father’s Day entertainment,” said Moscow resident Gary Willsch.
Picklefest at the Garden Drive-in
With a large variety of cars, the show had a set of wheels for everyone and that’s what Willsch says is his favorite part.
“Would be impossible to pick a favorite because they’re just so many to see, such a large variety so diverse, from old to brand, new to classic, to you know supercars, just couldn’t pick too many to choose,” Willsch added.
One family has been coming to the car show for years but this year is a little more special than the past years.
“It’s been a tradition when my boys were little we’d go to the car shows we had a couple Volkswagens, Volkswagen bus camper, and now that my grandkids are old enough, my son brought his kids are now here at car show with the old Ford pickup truck,” said Kevin Adcrroft from Scranton.
“It’s a magnificent feeling to come out again on such a beautiful day and spend the day walking around. Looking at all these cars that are just absolutely gorgeous. It’s just an enjoyable time. Great way to spend it with them,” Willsch said.
There was also a raffle and a chance to win prizes. More than 600 vehicles were a part of the show.
