New exhibit showcases Las Vegas’ evolution through postcards

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A new exhibit at the Nevada State Museum will take the public through the unique history of Las Vegas.

Take a journey through early Las Vegas and how it transformed from a railroad stop into a major worldwide tourist destination. “Greetings from Las Vegas: Growth of a City Through Postcards” is a new feature exhibit that opens Friday, June 7 with a reception at 6 p.m. at the Nevada State Museum and will run through the end of September.

That is not the only exhibit the museum has, there is also “Mapping Nevada: Tracking Nevada’s Statehood Through Maps” and a permanent gallery that takes visitors back millions of years.

The museum is regularly open Thursdays – Mondays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 309 S. Valley View Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107. The entrance fee for Nevada residents is as follows: $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children (ages 3-17) The charge for non-Nevada residents is $18.95 for adults and $10.95 for children (ages 3-17).
