It's now been three weeks since Jamie Foxx was hospitalized with an undisclosed medical complication. While we still don't know what the 55-year-old actor is suffering from, his condition apparently remains serious enough that friends and family are urging fans to pray for him.

It was first reported on April 12 that Foxx had suffered a "medical emergency" while filming his upcoming action flick Back in Action in Atlanta, alongside Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz—who had been coaxed out of retirement for the film. Though it was not disclosed what Foxx was suffering from, it was evidently serious enough that family flew in from out of town to be at his bedside.

As of April 21, Foxx was reportedly "awake and alert" while doctors ran tests and kept him under observation, but updates have been scarce.

This week, Foxx's longtime friend Charles E. Alston, also known as Charlie Mack, provided an update on Instagram.

"I need you all to constantly keep our beloved brotha [Jamie Foxx] up whom we all [love] & care for dearly in our Hearts, Minds & Prayers!!!!" Mack wrote.

"We need you back Bro," Mack continued. "As I always state a true champion isn’t the one that wins, it’s the one that meets & overcomes adversity!! Your test becomes your testimony!! We all can’t wait to receive you back home to celebrate, laugh with and applaud you!!"

TMZ likewise reported on Wednesday that sources close to Foxx have asked fans to "pray for Jamie."

Foxx's daughter Corrine, with whom he appears on Fox's Beat Shazam, was the first to break the news about her father's condition.

"From the Foxx Family. We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the 29-year-old shared in a statement on Instagram (which has since been deleted). “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery."

"We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers," she added. "The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, the Foxx Family."

Filming on the popular music lyric game show has since resumed with Nick Cannon picking up hosting duties. Corrine, who DJs on the program, will also not appear on this season, as she has remained by her father's side during his health complications. She will be replaced by Kelly Osbourne.

Foxx later responded to concerns about him, posting a message on Instagram thanking fans for their prayers without elaborating on his condition.
