Warner Bros. recently revealed several new character details and images from Fantastic Beasts 2, and we can’t get enough. The second installation will be called Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. We’re especially excited to see more of Jude Law as young Dumbledore and for Zoe Kravitz to play Leta Lestrange. (Johnny Depp, not so much.)

Law as Dumbledore definitely has us intrigued. The Dumbledore we see in the Fantastic Beasts films will be very different from the one we’ve seen in the original Harry Potter movies, even in flashbacks. These films take place before Tom Riddle is even born, so there must be a whimsy to Dumbledore that doesn’t exist later. And while Law-as-Dumbledore is not young, per se, it’s not like he’s rocking a white beard either. He’s pretty great to look at.

Producer David Heyman recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the film and shared why he thinks that Law is the perfect Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. “One of the reasons we chose Jude is he has many of the qualities we find in Dumbledore in the Potter films,” Heyman said.

But it’s not just the look. Heyman thinks that Law has got the whole Dumbledore vibe going for him as well.

“He’s got authority, he’s got a twinkle in his eye, he’s sometimes a bit elliptical. So you have that but also have this youthful energy and jubilance,” Heyman continued. “So he brings that twinkle, mischief, authority, and power, but at the same time brings far more youthful energy to the film. You understand why he would be your favorite teacher and be someone you believe is an extraordinary wizard.”

We can’t wait to see Law play the wizard before he became a legend.
