These fashionable New Yorkers on the Upper West Side score major style points
Anyone who has been to New York City knows that the Upper West Side is home to several world-class museums and cultural institutions. In this episode of ITK: Fit Check, our host and resident fashionista, Aimee Kelly (@byaimeekelly), heads to the iconic neighborhood to see all of the timeless fashion looks the area has to offer.
First, Aimee chats with Jonny-James. The New Yorker wears a brown plaid jacket, thrifted green corduroy pants and Doc Martens. Jonny-James says his mother inspires his style, adding, “When I was growing up, I always looked up to her style a lot because she’s so cool.”
Aimee next chats with Karen, a New Yorker who says she picked her outfit for its seasonal colors and because she likes to be warm. She wears leather boots, Old Navy wide-leg pants, a Uniqlo sweater and a family heirloom hat.
“What do you love about the Upper West Side?” Aimee asks Karen.
“Absolutely everything,” Karen says. “I love the energy, I like the people, I like the wardrobes I see.”
“Has the Upper West Side influenced your style in any way?” Aimee then asks Alice. Alice is dressed in a beige cardigan, white top, green pants and black boots.
“I would say it’s probably just made me feel a little more adventurous with colors and stuff,” she says. “I just see so many wonderful outfits all over the streets here.”
