First Look: Inside The Mountain Club, a New Exclusive Enclave in Cabo San Lucas

Cabos San Lucas is known as one of Mexico’s trendiest vacation spots for its views of Playa El Medano’s calm waves and granite rock formations at Land’s End, and an exclusive new enclave, dubbed The Mountain Club, in one of the city’s prestigious hillside communities allows you to extend your stay via its luxurious Baja residences. Along with private ownership, the coastal sanctuary offers homeowners and guests an array of social and wellness experiences for replenishing the mind and body, too.

Set atop the hills of Pedregal, aka the “Hollywood Hills of Cabo,” The Mountain Club is integrated into the landscape and optimized for privacy and unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. Its limited collection of homes includes the two- to four-bedroom Costas Villas, which range from 3,600 to 6,000 square feet. The Estate Homes, meanwhile, feature up to five bedrooms across nearly 10,000 square feet. All that private space is great, but it’s the surreal beach and canyon views that will leave you feeling like a character on HBO’s White Lotus.

Alonso de Garay of Taller ADG, an acclaimed Mexico City-based architecture firm, is behind the no-fuss design of the homes and the private members club on-site. On the exclusive plot of El Rincon, owners will find the duplex-style Costa Villas cascading down into the canyonside with five-star primary bedrooms, en-suite baths, and generous terraces that feature fire pits and plunge pools. Shaded pool decks and outdoor dining spaces also make them ideal for entertaining.

Alternatively, the Estate Homes are each one-of-a-kind with three-story designs that come in varying dimensions. In addition to panoramic views, these builds offer amenities like outdoor showers, jacuzzis, courtyard space, and up to four parking spaces. “In every detail of the Mountain Club residences, you’ll find a commitment to design that embraces the human experience and draws influence from the mountainside coastal site,” de Garay says in a statement. Other amenities on-site also align with this delicate means of connection.

Residents and guests can gather at a social pool overlooking the ocean, while the beach club along the Sea of Cortez offers water activities tailored to residents’ needs. The Spa Café & Juice Bar keeps poolside loungers refreshed, and The Mountain Club’s premier restaurant, Fénix, caters to both residents and the general public, serving up fresh seafood and flame-grilled fare next to artisanal cocktails. To burn off the calories, stop by the fitness club with a yoga terrace, sauna, and steam room, as well as the Spa & Salon by Manoma.
