Netflix has officially shared the long-awaited first look at the live-action adaptation of popular Nickelodeon animation adventure, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Back in September 2022, Netflix announced the full cast, which includes legends like George Takei, alongside Utkarsh Ambudkar, Arden Cho, Dann Pudi and more.

The images show the first look at Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka and Dallas Liu as Zuko. Alongside the first look images, Netflix has released a short teaser video that shows a whole new iteration of the original series. Elements of the Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation and Air Nomads are given a live-adaptation with its different terrains. Towards the end of the teaser, the music is reminiscent of the original animation, the debut date of the series is painted onto a piece of scorched fabric, hinting at when to expect world domination. The series is set in a world divided by the four major elements and "Benders" from each nation have the ability to manipulate either water, earth, fire or air with their martial arts. The story centers around Avatar, a child named Aang, who is tasked with restoring balance to the world.

Amongst the legendary cast are Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as General Iroh. The series is executive produced by showrunner Albert Kim along with Michael Goi and Rideback's Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore.
