Fun events planned for the weekend in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It is officially the first weekend of the summer! So, it’s time to look at some of the fun, family-friendly activities happening in the greater Memphis area.

Friday is Family Fun Day. The City of Memphis and Memphis Parks invites you to come out and play from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be free activities for the entire family at Douglass Park including video games, bounce houses, food trucks and more.

Friday night is also another installment of the Orion free concert series at Overton Shell Park. The music starts at 7:30.

You can also enjoy some free music at Overton Square on Friday night. That concert begins at 7 p.m. This is the last night of the summer music series.

Starting Friday through June 30, you can watch 9 to 5: The Musical at the Harrell Performing Arts Theater in Collierville. Tickets range from $17 to $28.

This Saturday is the Summer Solstice Market at Memphis Made Brewery. That’s on South Cooper Street from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. There you can find handmade items from local artists. Admission is free.

You can round out your weekend by relaxing during some goat yoga. 901 Goats is hosting this event at Overton Park Shell on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and yoga mat rental is $5.
