Garth Brooks Reveals the Emotional Moment Trisha Yearwood Brought Him to Tears

Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks stepped out for a night on the town, and they both looked stunning for the black tie affair. The country music power couple attended the 45th annual Kennedy Center Honors, where honorees, including Amy Grant, George Clooney, U2, and Gladys Knight, were recognized for lifetime artistic achievements. Garth was one of the honorees in 2021, and this year, he and Trisha took in the ceremony.

Trisha had a special honor for the evening: She sung "The Star-Spangled Banner." Garth talked about the night on his Inside Studio G: A Monday Night Conversation on Facebook. Garth said about his wife of 16 years, "So, you're sitting there in the Kennedy Center...and they say, 'Everyone, please rise for the President and First Lady,' and they all come in there and the first voice you hear is Trisha Yearwood .. .Oh, my God. And you just start bawling. You just start crying, and you don't stop crying, and that's the way the night started."

Trisha shared a photo from the evening. She wore a sparkly, form-fitted green and blue dress with a long cape (for a similar look, check out this cape-sleeve party dress or this mermaid-style gown), and Garth was country-formal in his black hat, black shirt and tie, and jeans.

Trisha captioned the photo, "A special occasion deserves a dress like this and a date like him! xo"

Garth replied, "Lucky to be in the same room with this woman!! love, g" Fans left comments praising the couple and their looks for the evening.
