Giant Maine Coon Kitten is Already Too Huge for His Adorable Bunny Cat Bed

I always knew Maine Coon cats were big. I had seen the social media videos of these cats dwarfing the size of normal cats even as kittens, but I guess I didn't really understand how big they are until I had one living in my house.

Cats are usually considered kittens until they are about one year of age. My Maine Coon Meatball is seven months old, and Maine Coon cats take up to four years to reach their full grown size. Meatball was recently gifted the cutest cat bed ever. It's this precious cat bed that's ridiculously soft in the shape of a bunny and after we built it he immediately wanted to curl up in it. This cat bed may all ready be too small for him.

Look at how adorable this is! It's a bunny! The 2-in-one cat scratching bed from Lesure is just ridiculously adorable, and the best part is, the top comes off so it's also a stand alone cat bed which Meatball is madly in love with.

Even though Meatball takes full advantage of the scratching post part of it, the cat bed works way better when it's off the base for us because he's so.. well.. meaty. When he jumps up on it he shakes the whole thing. This has nothing to do with the quality of the bed, it's super sturdy and well made, this doesn't happen with the other cats, just Meatball. He's just too big! Now, my other two cats love it and fit in it just fine, and it's great that you can remove the cover and wash it because with three cats fighting over it, it's bound to get dirty!

It's not just cat furniture that really illustrates how big my Maine Coon is, it's everything about him. I can't lift him with one arm.  When he jumps on me it's painful. Don't even get me started when he makes biscuits on me. This adorable cat habit is almost too much with him, his paws are giant and he puts all of his weight on me plus it seems like his nails grow back as quickly as they are clipped.

I love my big boy more than anything, he's just really big. I need to talk to Lesure about making one of those full size human/cat/dog beds so I can cuddle up with Meatball on it because if it's as soft as this bunny bed, we will never get out!

How Much Do Maine Coons Weigh?

These cats are big!

The average weight of Maine Coon cats is between 13 and 18 pounds for males or 8 to 12 pounds for females. Maine coons grow until they are about four years old, and my Meatball currently weighs almost 14 pounds. Now, that may seem pretty gigantic but our vet assures us he is absolutely the perfect size for his length and age.

You can find the lesurepet cat bed here, and it also comes in ridiculously cute cow and pig animal shapes!
