As The Daily Mail reports, this isn't your typical baby who was gifted a £1 million house and a £5 million trust fund. This baby is the granddaughter of Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and Tony Drewitt-Barlow. Those names may mean little to those in the U.S., but Barrie and Tony are significant figures in LGBTQ history in the U.K.:
"Barrie Drewitt-Barlow made history with his ex-husband Tony Drewitt-Barlow in 1999, when they became the first gay couple to be registered as parents after welcoming twins Saffron and Aspen via surrogacy, followed by a son, Orlando."
Saffron has now welcomed a baby girl into the world, and the child's grandparents reportedly "can't wait to spoil her."
"I just bought her a new house this weekend worth £1 million, and I've instructed a team of interior designers to go in and totally renovate it for her," Barrie told The Sun. "And as this is Tony's first grandchild, he has set up a £5 million trust fund for her, so she is already a multi-millionaire."
Now, we mentioned up to "a little bit of mess." That's because the historic couple of Barrie and Tony are no longer together. As for who Barrie is seeing now, The Daily Mail notes that "Barrie separated from Tony in 2019 and got together with his new partner Scott Hutchinson, who used to date his daughter, with the pair welcoming a daughter Valentina in October 2020 and son Romeo in 2022."
So this 2-day-old baby is now a multi-millionaire, courtesy of Grandpa Barrie, Grandpa Tony, and Grandpa Mom's-Ex-Now-Grandpa-Barrie's-New-Partner Scott.
