Girl Scout cookie prices have increased this year, and the victims include Utah’s favorite, Thin Mints.

In some parts of the U.S., Girl Scout cookies will now cost $6 per box, CNN reported. Specialty cookies were already priced at $6, but now in some areas, the price will be standardized for all cookie flavors.

The price increase is due to “rising production and material costs,” according to an email sent from the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, per CNN.

USA Today reported that cookies could cost as much as $7 next year. Prices last increased for the 2015 cookie season, rising from $4 to $5 a box.

One cookie that won’t be affected by inflation is the Raspberry Rally, which was discontinued earlier this month, the Deseret News previously reported.

When do Girl Scouts start selling cookies?

Girl Scout cookie season typically lasts from January to April. Girl Scouts of Utah will begin taking cookie orders on Jan. 20, according to their website.

Cookie booths will be open March 15-30. Cookie selling season in Utah will end once booths close.

How much did the first Girl Scout cookies cost?

The first Girl Scouts started selling homemade cookies in 1917 in Oklahoma. The project went nationwide in the 1920s, when Girl Scout troops started selling homemade sugar cookies. At the time, the cookies were sold for 25 to 35 cents a dozen, according to the Girl Scouts website.

Where can I buy Girl Scout cookies?

Girl Scout cookie lovers can purchase cookies during cookie season by finding their local Girl Scout troop on the organization’s website.

They can also be purchased at Girl Scout cookie booths set up outside local stores in March or when Girl Scouts go door to door.

Cookies can also be purchased online. They first became available online in 2014, according to Fox Business.
