GoPro Releases Compilation Of Scariest Darkfest Moments
A month ago, riders traveled to South Africa for the first major freeride event of the year Darkfest. The riders hucked themselves down Sam Reynolds’ enormous jump line.
As you can imagine on jumps that big, even pros had some close calls. Watch a compilation of sketchy moments from Darkfest below.
In this video, riders got had narrow misses and slams on the enormous jumps. It is a surprise more of them did not get hurt.

Watching this compilation out of the context of hundreds of successful jumps from each rider can give the impression that these big jumps are dangerous. While everyone is fallible and will slip up eventually, professional riders are incredibly consistent on these jumps and they kept the crashes to a minimum.
The biggest problem jump this year was the 110-foot gap jump. The site of the world record-setting backflip in 2023, the 110-footer had some variable conditions and caused some sketchy moments, including the two riders ditching their bikes and sliding down the landing seen in this video.
