Will grocery stores be open July 4? Here are hours for Coachella Valley

What would July 4 be without hot dogs, sparklers and some patriotically painted cupcakes? We shudder at the thought of anyone ever having to find out.

So in the spirit of preventing Coachella Valley locals from spending their precious holiday crying the red, white and blues, we've done the dirty work of confirming the hours at (nearly) every grocery store from Palm Springs to Coachella.

Check this list and you'll avoid the Independence Day dread that comes with driving from store to store in desperate search for an extra pair of floaties for your sister's kid after they just made the trek all the way here from Temecula (hint: Walmart and Target stores are both open their regular hours).

After all, it's hard enough to enjoy Independence Day around here when its seemingly always 110 degrees outside. Don't make it worse by stopping for Firecracker popsicles at a store that's been closed for hours.
