Hailey Baldwin Steps Out Without Engagement Ring, Prompting Rumors of a Secret Wedding

There is nothing celebrities love more than a good ol' secret wedding, where they tie the knot without telling anyone and then oh-so-subtly spill the beans about it in an interview many months later. That's exactly what some think Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber have done, after Hailey was spotted walking around New York City on Monday with her left hand stacked with rings that maybe, sort of look like wedding bands — and are definitely not the giant, oval-shaped diamond engagement ring given to her by Justin a few weeks ago.

The evidence: On Monday, Hailey and Justin took a nice, leisurely stroll through NYC. For the outing, Hailey wore a sporty ski-style jacket as a minidress, carried a Louis Vuitton backpack, slicked her hair back into a ballerina bun, and donned a pair of angular black sunglasses. As seen in photos published by Cosmopolitan, Hailey piled her left hand with bling, wearing a gold watch on that wrist, plus a simple diamond band and a chunkier gold ring both on that ring finger. You'll notice, of course, that the gorgeous engagement ring on which Justin allegedly spent about $500,000 was not included in that inventory, prompting rumors that Hailey and Justin secretly got married and that Hailey subsequently swapped her engagement ring for a wedding band.

It's not the most out-there theory. For one, since the pair only went public with their relationship about three weeks before confirming that they were engaged, it wouldn't be completely out of character for them to get married just three weeks after Justin popped the question. Plus, not only did the pair meet with a pastor on Sunday, but that same day, Justin also told paparazzi that "gettin' married" was the next thing on his agenda. Curious-er and curious-er!

That said, Hailey's worn at least one of those rings several times before; the diamond band can be seen on her Instagram here, here, and here. So, while the chunkier gold ring could be Hailey's wedding band, per Cosmo, Justin's left hand was conspicuously bare on the same outing. More than likely, either Hailey's hand just needed a break from carrying around that massive rock all day, every day, or she wanted to show some of her other favorite pieces of bling some love. After all, in the past few weeks, Hailey and Justin have proved they have nothing to hide about their relationship — so, when they do get married, there's a pretty good chance they'll share the news with their fans on Instagram.
