People looking for a taste of Hawaii in Lubbock will have a new option next month, according to an announcement made by the upcoming restaurant's manager.

At 9:15 p.m. Friday, Hawaiian Bros Island Grill Manager Fallon Thompson sent the LBK Foodies Facebook group into a frenzy of excitement. The announcement detailed that the location at 5501 Slide Road will officially open on July 1. The first 100 customers will receive a free t-shirt and a restaurant gift card ranging from $25-500 with purchase, and one customer will win free Hawaiian Bros for a year, according to a company news release issued on Wednesday.

Hours for the VIP events will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., and first responders, medical personnel, academic staff, students or local business employees will receive a free plate lunch.

Some of the menu items include Dole soft serve, Spam Musubi and Luau Pig.

An official confirmed a location would open on Slide Road after the business signed a lease in July for the recently razed Fuddruckers location, but would not answer further questions at the time. Fuddruckers moved from Slide Road in December 2023 and reopened in January 2024 at 6616 Milwaukee Ave.
