Sprouts Kids Club members learn to make healthy choices

GOSHEN — The Goshen Farmers Market is offering a free program focused on encouraging kids to make healthy food choices. On Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. during the months of June through October, children can participate in Sprouts Kids Club and receive free tokens to spend on fresh produce from local farmers at the market. On the second Tuesday of those months, Goshen Health will offer fun activities to help Sprouts Kids learn about nutrition and physical activity and earn an additional token to spend at the market. SOUTH BEND — Celebrate the longest day of the year with a 1-mile night hike from 8:30 to 10 p.m. June 20 at St. Patrick’s County Park. Meet at the Brown Barn and also roast a hot dog over the campfire, enjoy lemonade and make a suncatcher. Fee: $5/person. Registration and payment required by June 17. Call 574-654-3155. Classes

SOUTH BEND — Downtown South Bend Inc. will offer free yoga, Zumba and more every Saturday through Aug. 31. The program is held at the Gridiron, 122 S. Michigan St. The drop-in classes are free and open to all ages and skill levels. This year participants are asked to bring a small donation for the Food Bank each week or when able. Participants should dress in appropriate clothing and footwear, bring a mat and adequate fluids, and will be required to sign a waiver for the season. Free parking is available on the street and in the Leighton Parking Garage, enter off Jefferson Boulevard. This Saturday’s class includes 8 a.m. Yoga; 9 a.m. Zumba; 10 a.m. Tai Chi. SOUTH BEND — Unity Gardens Inc. is offering free Yoga in the Garden at 6 p.m. June 13. Bring a yoga mat and towel. Unity Gardens is at 3701 Prast Blvd.

SOUTH BEND — Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana will offer the free class “The Long Distance Caregiver” from 10 to 11 a.m. June 10 in the Care Partner Academy. Patty Piechocki, director of the Institute for Excellence in Memory Care, will lead this live/interactive web session. Participants can connect through their computer. SOUTH BEND — The St. Joseph County Public Library, Community Learning Center, 305 S. Michigan St., is offering Yoga for EveryBODY from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 12 in the Ballroom.

ELKHART — Elkhart County Parks will offer Yoga in the Park from 6 to 7 p.m. June 13 at the Cobus Creek Shelter, Cobus Creek County Park, 30680 County Road 8. Join registered yoga teacher Amanda for an hour of empowering yoga. All skill levels welcome. Participants, ages 18 and older, should dress for the weather, bring water and a yoga mat. SOUTH BEND — RiverBend Cancer Services Wellness House, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., will offer the following “Living Well with Cancer” classes. NILES — The Niles District Library, 620 E. Main St., is offering a beginner yoga class, every other Monday, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room. The class is for adults age 18 years and older and all levels of experience are welcome. Bring a mat, wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. There is no registration required and admission is free. The instructor is Sam Major from Dancing Feet Yoga. Next class is June 10.

GOSHEN — Goshen Parks & Recreation is offering Zumba classes to help participants de-stress, lose weight and make new friends. The class is held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 10 to 11 a.m. Saturdays through the month October. The cost is $5 drop-in rate. Class is held at Fidler Pavilion, Pringle Park, 1912 W. Lincoln Ave.
