Has Florida's rainy season put a damper on your beach plans? Stressing about how to entertain your kids on a rainy summer afternoon? Too hot to spend the day outside?

Thankfully, Palm Beach County has plenty of fun indoor activities to keep the whole family busy on summer afternoons that are too hot or rainy to be outdoors.

The Norton Museum of Art opened to the public in 1941 and boasts more than 8,200 works throughout its five departments. The museum has a painting from famous abstract artist Jackson Pollock and works from Georgia O'Keeffe and Stuart Davis.

General admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $5 for students and free for children 12 and under.

The Cox Science Center and Aquarium has tons of interactive learning opportunities and is a great way to kill some time with your kids. The center has a "journey through the human brain" experience, aquariums featuring sea creatures of the Atlantic Ocean and the first and only public planetarium in Palm Beach County.

General admission is $20.95 for adults, $16.95 for kids ages 3 through 12 and $18.95 for seniors. Tickets for the planetarium are sold separately.

If you're looking for an activity for the senses, taking a tour at the Bulk Candy Store in West Palm Beach could be your perfect rainy afternoon activity.

The big purple and yellow building near West Palm's airport offers free smells and a variety of vintage, unique and international candies that you can sink your teeth into. Their tours cover the history and production of candy and their store has just about any candy you miss seeing in supermarket check-out aisles, from mars bars to candy cigarettes.

The Silverball Museum in Delray Beach is not just a museum. The interactive museum is also a retro arcade with vintage pinball machines and arcade games that date back around 90 years, to the 1930s. There's also a restaurant with a full bar and other games like skee-ball and shuffle board.
