There are upward of 60 places at which a person can get a burger in Columbia. A majority are from restaurant menus, but there are a couple of food trucks and there are times when a restaurant may not regularly serve a burger but offers one as a special.

So, which is the best burger in Columbia? The Columbia Tribune is seeking reader input to decide. A poll will go live Monday to get necessary feedback to determine the top 16 burgers in Columbia for a bracket.

Bracket polling will happen Tuesday through Friday, leading to one being declared the best burger in Columbia on July 1. The poll is focused on local locations, so regional or national chains like Wendy's, Burger King and Five Guys, among others, are not being considered.

Burger slingers could have a variety of styles, such as mushroom and swiss or western style, so there will be a way to provide a location and specialty style of burger on Monday's survey. This means a restaurant potentially could have multiple entries for a basic burger or other specialty style (maybe even veggie burger) on the bracket.

If you don't feel like grilling for the Independence Day holiday, a person could swing by the winning location if they are open for the holiday.

The Tribune is focused on only using survey suggestions from readers for the bracket. If reader suggestions do not fill out the 16-spot bracket, the Tribune will fill in any that remain, which will be noted on daily polls.
