History Center to host heat stress training workshop

Jun. 17—THOMASVILLE- With the heat of a South Georgia summer upon us, it's time to keep heat safety at the top of our minds. The Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute: Safety, Health, and Environmental Services team will offer a free temperature extremes training on Thursday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Thomasville History Center.

In this four and a half hour free training, attendees will learn about heat and cold stress signs and symptoms, how to implement lifesaving first-aid techniques if someone is experiencing heat exhaustion or heat stroke, and how to prevent heat-related injuries and illnesses in the workplace and at home. This free training was developed under the Susan Harwood Grant and is offered at no cost to employers, employees, and members of the public.
