‘Succession’ Takes Home the 2024 Golden Globe for Best TV Series, Drama

The results are in!

Tonight, the 81st annual Golden Globes took place on CBS. During the event, Succession took home the statuette for Best Television Series, Drama.

The show was nominated against The Crown, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, 1923 and The Morning Show.

Other previous winners include House of the Dragon, Succession, The Crown, The Americans, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Crown, Mr. Robot, The Affair, Breaking Bad, Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Nip/Tuck, 24, The Shield, Six Feet Under, West Wing, The Sopranos, The Practice, The X-Files, Party of Five, NYPD Blue, Northern Exposure, Twin Peaks, China Beach, Thirtysomething, L.A. Law, Murder, She Wrote and Dynasty.

For this specific category, documentary series and mini-series are also eligible. From 1962 to 1968, the category was even more inclusive: It was called the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series and included musical, comedy and drama series in a single category.

The 81st annual Golden Globes were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The ceremony was exclusively broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
