I practically live in these comfy shorts all summer — they're only $15 at Target
As a born-and-bred New Yorker with a mom who worked in the fashion industry, I love dressing up, always choosing heeled sandals over flip-flops and dresses over leggings. Unless I was hitting the gym or hopping on a red-eye flight, you'd never catch me outside in any athleisure wear — until a few months ago when the Colsie Fleece Lounge Shorts popped into my life.
I was casually strolling through Target one fateful day with a Starbucks in hand (as one does) and came across a colorful wall of sweat shorts. Bored and remembering that I needed a new pair of PJs, I tried on a pair. I mean, they looked super simple and were only $15, how good could they be? Um, spoiler: Very good.
Since buying the shorts, I've worn them nearly every day this summer. Running errands? Yup. Going to the beach? Obviously. Heading out on a morning walk in the park? Duh. To put it simply, I cannot quit these shorts.
I like to call these my Goldilocks shorts: not too heavy, not too thin and just soft enough to feel like a second skin. Dare I say they're just right?
So, why am I head over heels in love with these $15 fleece shorts? For starters, they're made of a wildly soft cotton and polyester mix. Other than the softness, it was the silhouette that really pulled me in. Most sweat shorts I've tried have little to no shape, with the fabric flowing straight down the thighs, this Target pair has a slight flare at the thigh. This flattering cut turns them from basic lounge shorts to ... shorts that I'm checking myself out in. I'm just as surprised as you are.
Not only are they soft and flattering, they're made with a comfortable added stretch. the full elastic waistband is thick enough to feel secure and the adjustable drawstring makes it easy to find the perfect fit. All I need to do is just slide 'em on. Oh, and did I mention there are pockets? What's better than pockets?
I'm not the only devotee to the massively comfortable shorts — hundreds of Target shoppers have given them an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. They clearly have good taste. In fact, a handful of reviewers nabbed the shorts in multiple colors.
"I bought these as PJs and loved them so much I got another pair in a different color," shared one obsessed reviewer. "Great for lounging around, as PJs or even to run errands. I love that they don’t squeeze your legs like some shorts do, but at the same time, the shorts aren’t overly roomie either. They fit just right."
Meanwhile, this second reviewer backs up my Goldilocks claim: "Was looking for a good pair of basic shorts that weren’t too short but not too long, and these were perfect," they explained. "You can style them in so many different ways."
"These shorts are super comfortable to wear, both in the flexible waistband and soft material inside the shorts, too. I usually wear long sweatpants at home but these are great for warmer summer nights.
Another added: "These shorts were so comfortable and great for lounging around the house." However, they did note that the light color they bought "was slightly see-through." While I haven't noticed it with the gray shorts, a second shopper mentioned that they're "inclined to order the black" color as an opaque backup.
I've only tried the shorts, but you can complete the dreamy lounge set with this matching sweatshirt. According to one reviewer, it's "so snuggly that it feels like you're wearing very comfortable pajamas outside even though it's not."
