New Images Released for The Marvels

Via Entertainment Weekly, Marvel has just released a batch of images to promote its next big superhero film The Marvels, and there’s a lot to take away.

For starters, we can see the new-look costumes for its three leading heroines: Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. How these superheroes forge their alliance forms the film’s narrative backbone. Although, as we saw in the trailer, they're also bound for a big scrap at some point.

We also get a closer glimpse at the film’s central villain Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), a Kree General who seems to be wielding a Cosmi-Rod. We last saw this Kree war hammer in the hands of Ronan the Accuser in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

And who can forget Goose? It may look like a cat, but this is actually a powerful alien called a Flerken which can unleash tentacles from its mouth and eat a human whole. Larson is actually allergic to cats, which meant Marvel had to create a realistic CGI one for scenes she shares with Goose.

The Marvels stars Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Teyonah Parris (Photon), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).
