Independent Celebrates Santa Cruz Skateboards' 50th Anniversary With A Collab Truck (And Ripping Video)
50 years? Heavy. Santa Cruz is a staple in skateboarding. No argument. And in all honesty, so is Indy. This collab isn't surprising, but it's definitely necessary.
Eman is in the van! Dressen is in the mix! Winkowski...always! The gang's all here. Young bucks to OGs, the Santa Cruz team is as stacked as it is diverse. Beware: This edit will get you fired up. Is your board nearby?
From the SF streets to Treasure Island and beyond, this crew truly barged the Bay Area with some grit. Every session seemed pretty heated, all hands on deck, and with a squad like this it's hardly surprising.
Like I mentioned, their team is stacked and diverse. Diverse because there are multiple generations of legends sitting in that van, for one. And because the entire team can, and will, skate everything. Streets, parks, DIY slabs... Maurio McCoy is bombing hills and kickflipping gaps, and a few hours later he's doing kickflip Indys at Treasure Island. And that's just one small example.
Let's just say they covered some ground during this trip.
50 years is super impressive. Hats off to both brands for always doing things their way. Here's to 50 more?
