Inside the Interactive 'Sex and the City' Experience

It's been 25 years since we were introduced to Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs, Charlotte York and Samantha Jones, but the show's fandom remains strong. From Carrie's iconic tutu to her blue Manolo Blahnik stilettos (still gracing wedding photos to this day) to the popularity of the Cosmopolitan, Sex and the City has proven to be a cultural mainstay.

This week, we got to step into Carrie's world at the Sex and the City Experience in New York City, which is open from June 8-11.

Inside the event space, you're greeted with a very New York City newsstand featuring magazines circa the show's original run in the early 2000s. And no Sex and the City Experience would be complete without a recreation of Carrie Bradshaw's famous front stoop. (Fun fact: You can visit the real-life exterior for Carrie's apartment on Perry Street in New York City.)

As you continue through the exhibit, you can stop for a photo op gazing out the window while "working" at Carrie's desk. The replica of her office and bedroom feel like a big-time throwback, featuring '90s and '00s relics like landline phones, a vintage alarm clock and paper books (not a Kindle in sight!)

Next up is Carrie's closet, which features video boards highlighting some of the characters' best looks throughout the series.

But the most exciting portion of the space has to be the costume and accessory displays, which feature the famous "Heidi" picnic dress, a green tutu dress worn in Paris, a vintage floral dress seen in the first SATC movie and, of course, that white tutu ensemble.

Aside from the clothes, the event has tons of accessories on display. The $890 pigeon clutch seen in And Just Like That, the Judith Leiber rhinestone cupcake bag and bedazzled Eiffel Tower handbag all make an appearance.

And it wouldn't be the Sex and the City Experience without shoes! Dozens of Carrie's most fabulous (and likely quite uncomfortable) shoes are on display.

The event also pays homage to the Berger Post-It Note, which is featured prominently in a glass box like the piece of television history that it is.
