Jack Moir Seen Shredding On "Secret" Downhill Bike

When mountain bikers are developing new technology they get their pro athletes to ride it. However, they generally want to keep the new ride quiet until the official release. Often this means riders will be spotted on covered bikes.

Watch Jack Moir get loose on a secret, covered downhill bike below.

This bike, which first came to the bike world’s attention when Vali Hoell posted it, appears to have an idler pulley, a change from YT’s non-high pivot Tues.

Though it is not the highest definition, you can see a spy shot taken from the clip below.

Jack Mour, who rides for YT, has raced mostly enduro in the past few years, but has teased a return to Downhill racing this offseason. If the covered bike is being ridden and publicly posted, it would not be surprising if something were released soon.

The YT joins a long list of covered bikes like Jolanda Neff’s Trek Supercaliber from 2019 and Commencal’s secret prototype Downhill Bike from 2021.

Building hype around a bike by covering it is a genius move. It gets a buzz going around the bike and endless speculation in forums that otherwise might not have happened.

Whatever this new YT DH bike is, Jack is riding it quickly. Hopefully, we will see him test it out at a World Cup or two this year.
