Viewers of The Morning Show, and fans of Jennifer Aniston, may have noticed a fashion Easter egg on this week's episode. At one point, Anniston's character, Alex Levy, attends an event benefitting the Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) scholarship program, hosted by Maison Valentino and creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli. At the party, Alex wears a black one-shoulder gown with an ultra-high leg slit — and if the dress looked familiar, that's because it's an exact replica of Aniston's 2010 Golden Globes gown, which fittingly happens to be Valentino.

According to one of the show's costume designers, Debra Maguire, it was Aniston's idea to bring back the iconic dress from 13 years ago. "It's interesting — I had brought several dresses in, and while we were having the fitting, [Aniston] was like, 'You know what I want to wear? I want to wear the dress that I wore to the Golden Globes. I think it was in 2010 that Valentino designed for me. I want that dress,'" Maguire told People.

The costume crew and Aniston went to Piccioli to see if he could remake the dress for her character to wear to the fictional Valentino event on the show. "So we went to Pierpaolo to see if that was possible, if they would make that for her," Maguire explained. "And they did. That's really what she wanted to wear. It's very Jen. It's very Alex. It's very everything. It's very Valentino."

According to a press release, it was also Aniston's idea to tap Valentino as the featured designer in the scene because of her long-standing friendship with Piccioli.

"Valentino is legendary and Pierpaolo is such an inspired designer, so elegant and classic and yet innovative and elevating and surprising; amidst all the elegance, he always seems to find a way to remind us not to take ourselves too seriously," executive producer and Aniston's Echo Films partner Kristin Hahn said in a statement. "We love how curious Pierpaolo is about the world and history and human nature and mother nature, and how he incorporates all of that into his designs. There’s a childlike quality to Pierpaolo coupled with a timeless sophistication, which is what makes him a great artist who makes the world a more beautiful place."
