Justice for Barb: Shannon Purser Will Star in Netflix's ‘Sierra Burgess Is a Loser’
It appears Barb from Stranger Things is finally getting the justice she deserves.
Shannon Purser, the actress who played Barb in the hit series, will star in the upcoming Netflix feature film Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, which is being labeled as a modern-day telling of Cyrano de Bergerac. Even better? This Is Us star Chrissy Metz will also appear in the rom-com (#Bless).
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser tells the story of a high school student, Sierra (Purser), who finds herself in an unexpected romance when she teams up with the most popular girl in school, Veronica (Kristine Froseth), in an attempt to win her crush.
Ian Samuels (Myrna the Monster) will direct, and Lindsay Beer (Godzilla vs. Kong) will pen the script.
Take that, Hawkins, Indiana.
