Kainehe Hunt's Recap of His Legendary Barrel is Almost as Good as the Real Thing

A couple of weeks ago, Kauai's Kainehe Hunt scored what is perhaps the best Backdoor barrel of all time.

What our own Zander Morton called a "multi-section screamer," was an all-time barrel that connected from Backdoor to Off the Wall on Oahu's North Shore.

But what's almost as good—if not better—than the wave itself, is Hunt's recap of the wave in the video below. Words can't describe it. Not even his own.

Hunt captioned the video above:

"I have a lot of people to thank for this experience that I had at ehūkai beach park. My family, my friends, the brands that support me, and most of all the ocean.

"Here is a sneak peak of what @kuioyoung , @myleslaurion and my self have been working on to tell some of my story and the story of a wave I caught recently. Stay tuned for the full clip to drop☮️🤘🏽 #truetothis"

The clip opens with Hunt sitting in front of a camera and recapping the wave.

The surf world wasn't shy in the comments section, offering up more praise:

Kelly Slater: "So rad. 👏🏽"

Brian Bielmann: "That was one of the biggest deepest longest tubes I’ve ever seen it back door and I’ve been here for almost 50 winters straight"

Parker Coffin: "Sooooooo sick!!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌"

Selema Masekela: "this play play is as awesome as that wave 👊🏾"

Dustin Barca: "Yeah YOU !!!="

Alex Gray: "Congrats :)"

Chris Ward: "🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥"

Kala Grace: "Congrats my man ❤️❤️"
