The theme of this year's met gala is Karl Lagerfeld - A Line of Beauty.

The late German fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld, will be posthumously honored at this year's Met Gala. Although the designer has passed away, his beloved feline companion, Choupette, has received an invitation to attend the prestigious event. In the years since Lagerfeld’s death, Choupette has been taken care of by his former housekeeper, Françoise Caçote. It is even rumored that the designer left his fortune to the cat, but that's never been publicly confirmed.

Here's a video of the late designer's beloved Choupette.

According to The NY Post, in 2014, Choupette secured her own makeup line by Shu Uemura, and the cash cat went on to rake in over $2 million doing a campaign for a German car. Choupette also has a charity organization called the Choupette Fund, which aids stray cats.

Here's a clip of Lagerfeld discussing this beautiful kitty.

Choupette even has her very own official Instagram account:

In 2013, Lagerfeld was quoted as saying he would marry Choupette if it were legal. The spoiled kitty had her own maids who would keep detailed notes on everything she did for Lagerfeld when he had to travel without her. That is when she wasn't traveling with Lagerfeld and her own full-time maid.

There's no word yet on who would accompany this fancy blue-cream tortie Birman on the red carpet at the annual star-studded event, but we are sure if she does attend she'll be the star of the catwalk.
