Kate Middleton arrived in Dereham, England, for her visit to the Queen’s Dragoon Guard Regiment, in a military-inspired look, wearing a black twill double-breasted Holland Cooper blazer, utilitarian black pants and See by Chloe combat ankle boots.

This marked her first visit to the regiment as colonel-in-chief of 1st the Queen’s Dragoon Guard since King Charles appointed the Princess of Wales to the role in August.

Middleton’s outfit was accessorized with a crimson poppy in recognition of Remembrance Day. Throughout November, members of the royal family accessorize with the flower. Remembrance Day is celebrated on Nov. 11, and is observed in Commonwealth member states to honor armed forces who have died in the line of duty. The day has been celebrated since the end of the World War I.

During her visit, Middleton wore a second ensemble, including a camouflage military combat jacket and helmet to join the Queen’s Dragoon Guards in participating in combat-style activities, including riding in an armored vehicle, and learning about radio communication and reconnaissance drones. Her camouflage military regalia was also accessorized with the crimson poppy.

Middleton also visited the Robertson Barracks at Swanton Morley and conversed with Queen’s Dragoon Guard service members and their families.

The Princess of Wales’ choice of a Holland Cooper blazer indicates a return to power dressing for her. Since September, the Princess of Wales has been sporting blazers and tailored suiting for her extensive list of public engagements.

One of her most notable power-dressing looks from September featured a blue Alexander McQueen tailored suit she wore for a visit to HM Prison High Down. Her suit streak continued with a camel Roland Mouret wool and silk suit she wore to visit Streets of Growth.

In addition to serving as colonel-in-chief of the Queen’s Dragoon Guard, Middleton is also commodore-in-chief of the Fleet Air Arm and the royal honorary air commodore of Royal Air Force Coningsby.
