On November 2, it will be 13 years since three-time world champ Andy Irons tragically passed away at the age of 32.

The expression "AI Forever" is going strong as memories paying tribute to his legacy continue to emerge. In July, we remembered Irons on his 44th birthday and recently examined what made his surfing "so brilliant." A month ago, the surf world mourned the death of his father, Phil Irons.

The latest memory to surface is a unique one. It's an old voicemail Andy left for a friend he grew up surfing with on Kauai.

Former pro surfer, shaper, and Kauai boy Kamalei Alexander posted the clip above yesterday.

It features a surfing clip of Andy's brother, Bruce, with Andy's voicemail playing.

He captioned it:

“You only call me when I lose, whatever bro”

"Phillip Andrew Irons “champ"

"This is a video of Bruce with a message playing that Andy sent me after he won somewhere in Europe I think,,,

"I have a couple other messages I saved just gotta find them, had to share this so you guys could hear his voice."

In his story, Alexander wrote:

"Had a good cry hearing this, miss ya buddy."

Alexander grew up on Kauai with Andy and Bruce. They also spent time living on and surfing Oahu's North Shore together.

Today, Alexander, a native Hawaiian, is shaping custom surfboards and designing clothing for his brand, the Modern Hawaiian Collective.

The post struck a chord with listeners who knew Irons. Check out a few of the comments:

Kekoa Cazimero: "Wow. Chicken skin"

Mason Ho: "What a fucking HERO.. both of you guys. All of you guys!! This one made me [cry]. Thanks Kamalei hope you and your family are well"

Pat Rawson: "Find those messages, Kamalei! Classic-both of them"

Shane Beschen: "So good, thank you."
