Kevin Bacon has officially joined the picket line!

The Footloose star was spotted on strike in Times Square yesterday, July 17, striking for fair contracts, including appropriate streaming residuals, and in protest of a proposal to use AI to recreate actors' likenesses without having to pay them for their use.

A whole group of union members gathered in New York City, wearing matching t-shirts and carrying strike signs as they brought attention to their cause.

"Actors and writers unite, we have to win this fight," Bacon and his surrounding picketers chanted alongside a noisy cowbell in a clip of the action the actor uploaded to Instagram.

"Walking the line in solidarity with my fellow SAG-AFTRA members," he wrote, adding the hashtags "#SAGAFTRAstrike" and "#SAGAFTRAstrong."

"Thanks for being one of the good guys who never makes me feel like I misplaced my youthful admiration years ago," one fan wrote in response, later adding, "Long live the talent and the writers."

"Love it… my daughter is a writer and has been walking the picket lines in LA for weeks. Total support for what both guilds are fighting for!" someone else shared.

"I love that yall are fighting for the actors rights. Many people don't realize they're not all millionaires," another comment pointed out.

"I thought you were a gentleman farmer who plays string instruments! Omg you’re an actor?" another fan joked, referencing the variety of farm videos and goat songs Bacon loves to upload.

Members of SAG-AFTRA recently joined the WGA on strike, with writers and actors both demanding better contract negotiations. Today marks 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days for the WGA, while SAG-AFTRA just went on strike on July 14.
