Yellowstone isn't the only national park on Kevin Costner's radar. After finding success on the popular western drama Yellowstone, the actor, director, and producer is reportedly bringing a new show called National Parks to the small screen.

According to Deadline, ABC has already ordered a pilot for the one-hour drama, which will explore the dark side of America's national parks.

“Our partners at ABC, 20th Television, and A+E Studios have given me a great environment to step out of my comfort zone and deliver something special," Kevin said, according to Deadline.

So, what is "National Parks" about?

Kevin's new project will center around a group of elite National Parks Service agents who solve crimes. Per the series' official logline, while the national parks are known for their sweeping, beautiful landscapes, there is also a darker, more sinister side that attracts a vast array of criminal activity. 🤯

Sounds like NCIS meets Yellowstone. Our interest is officially piqued!

Who's in the cast?

National Parks will be written and executive produced by Kevin, The Flash’s Aaron Helbing, and author Jon Baird. It's unclear who will star in the series but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin will not be appearing on the show. Womp, womp. But we can still dream!

Does this mean Kevin is leaving "Yellowstone" though?

Yellowstone has been a big hit for the Paramount Network, and it's set to return for a fourth run sometime in 2021, according to its Instagram page. People were already worried that Kevin might be leaving the show after season 3's shocking cliffhanger. And the actor didn't do much to reassure fans when he was asked in a recent interview whether he would return for season 4.

"I can’t say. There’s an ending that you’re gonna see, hopefully it’s a powerful one for you," Kevin said. "I try to make things and be a part of things that have a dramatic arc to them."

We know this news about National Parks will probably make Yellowstone fans even more nervous about Ree's celeb crush potentially exiting. But don't worry, we've seen nothing to indicate a departure quite yet. Stay tuned for more updates on all things Kevin Costner!
