Kylie Jenner Makes the Case for a Sexy Turtleneck

Kylie Jenner’s latest look ditches covered-up warmth for a more alluring knitwear choice.

The turtleneck is a wardrobe mainstay: it can be easily be dressed up or down, pairs well with a statement coat, and never fails to give a look that extra polish that a crewneck sweater just can’t. (There’s a reason fashion icons such as Phoebe Philo and Victoria Beckham have made it their uniform.) But while the piece is unquestionably classic and versatile, one question remains: Can the turtleneck ever be sexyfied? Today’s current crop of It girls would suggest that, yes, it can: the key is in ditching the knitwear’s traditional covered-up feel for a slightly more alluring silhouette. Emily Ratajowski has done it in the summer time, and now Kylie Jenner has pulled off the winter counterpart.

Jenner stepped out in New York City on Friday night in a cropped turtleneck sweater with covered sleeves and a high neck, exposing her toned abs for a cooler, sexier finish. (This is someone who recently gave birth, too—mad props.) She threw on a ’90s-style leather trench coat overtop that extended below the knee, and finished off the ensemble with a pair of high-waisted, light wash jeans. Some would call them mom jeans—an appropriate style for the mother of Stormi. Her chunky white sneakers accentuated the coat’s throwback feel.
