The Ladies of Fuller House Seemed to Stand Behind Lori Loughlin at the Kids’ Choice Awards
Lori Loughlin was noticeably absent from the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, but apparently not from the minds of her Fuller House castmates Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber, and Jodie Sweetin. The trio appeared to reference the disgraced Aunt Becky (also a former reigning Hallmark movie heroine), who has been charged along with 50 others in the now infamous college admissions scandal, in which parents bribed and cheated their kids into elite schools.
While on stage to accept the Nickelodeon award for Favorite Funny TV Show, Barber said, “You have been laughing alongside our family for four seasons, and this family has a lot of heart.” Bure then added, “And where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love. And a loving family sticks together no matter what,” and her continued references to adversity seemed to hint at the scandal: “They stick together through the hard times. They support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other, and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that also sticks together also celebrates the really good times.”
Sweetin ended the acceptance speech by addressing fans and hyping up the fifth and final season of the Netflix revival, which is set to air sometime in the fall of 2019. “You’ve stuck with us for 30 years, and we love you all so much. We promise the fifth and final season is going to be amazing.”
Netflix reportedly has “no plans” to include Loughlin in those episodes, though she has previously guest-starred as Aunt Becky in the proceeding four seasons of Fuller House. The Hallmark Channel already announced that it had cut ties with Loughlin following the news that she and her husband had allegedly paid $500,000 to William Rick Singer to get their daughters into USC.
