Longtime Love INC volunteer retires after 20 years of service

Jun. 21—Jim Holding, a longtime resident of Lewis County, has retired from his volunteer work with Love In the Name of Christ (Love INC) after 20 years of service.

He began volunteering in early 2000 after hearing Carol Druckman, Love INC communications director, speak at the First Christian Church in Centralia. Holding then donated a couch that he delivered in his utility trailer, according to a Love INC news release.

"This made him an instant hit with the furniture team as they had access to only one other trailer at the time," Love INC stated, "Once Love INC received a grant from Boeing to purchase a furniture truck, the trailers were retired. Since that time, Jim has served in many areas including working with furniture, fundraising and as a member of the board. He was never short on jokes or energy. It is difficult to grasp Jim's devotion to Christ by serving the people of Lewis County through the Love INC ministry."

In July 2015, when Holding turned 80 years old, Love INC threw a retirement party for him. That didn't slow Holding down, and he continued to volunteer, Love INC stated.

"He has been a dedicated and fun volunteer for the last 20 years and we will miss him," Love INC stated.
