American Idol continues to provide some unmissable moments – not just from the super-talented contestants, but also from judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. And fans were treated to another hilarious exchange between the “Roar” singer and the “One Margarita” hitmaker on the February 18th episode of the show.

During that episode, which will probably live rent-free in our minds for a long time due to the below exchange, folk singer-songwriter Jack Blocker from Richardson, Texas auditioned with a song he wrote himself.

Luke Bryan Trolls Katy Perry On 'American Idol'

"I'm going to sing an original. It's called 'I Was Wrong,'" Jack told the judges just before starting his performance. Luke immediately responded with: "Katy has never uttered those words."

The "Harleys in Hawaii" singer, who reportedly won't be returning to the show next season, then shot Luke an unimpressed look, although fans do think that she saw the funny side of his comment.

The mom-of-one hasn't had the best history on the show, as she was called out in the past for taking a leaf out of Simon Cowell's book and being unnecessarily mean to some contestants. She was also slammed as a bully for making fun of a contestant's style last year, with one person writing on X at the time: "Katy Perry is so mean on this season of American Idol and it's icky. It wasn't okay when Simon did it, and it's not okay now."

Jack's fate on the show is pretty interesting, as he initially didn't make it through to Hollywood Week. However, after Luke begged to bring Jack back, producers allowed him to make it through to the next round. "They were definitely wrong when they didn't put him through! So glad they changed their minds he is an artist!!!" one fan wrote on Instagram.
