Is That 'Secret Invasion' Episode 4 Death Real?Marvel Studios

Secret Invasion has delivered another blow. In Episode 3, we saw G'iah (Emilia Clarke) shot by Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir). Although her death looked convincing (she changed back into her original Skrull form), it's clear she had a trick up her sleeve. But just because G'iah survived an attempt on her life, it doesn't mean our other favorites will as well.

In Episode 4, absolute chaos breaks out. Since G'iah averted a missile strike that would have caused international turmoil, Gravik's next plan is to assassinate the President of the United States (played by Dermot Mulroney) and make the whole affair look like the Russians committed the act. This guy really wants WWIII to happen. Thankfully, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) are there to stop him.

With gunfire and explosions galore, both sides appear to take major casualties. Both of the helicopters Gravik brings are taken down, and the President is kept alive despite a nasty car crash. But there's one problem: he's stuck upside down in an overturned car.

Talos takes the lead, punching at the window to get the leader out of the vehicle. Of course, Gravik sees all this and orders his men to shoot at Talos. Our favorite Skrull general takes a shot to the chest. Despite the visible pain he's undergoing (we see him slowly turn into his original Skrull form, a sign he doesn't have the energy to keep up the facade), Talos continues to work on getting the President free.

But once the President is taken away, a soldier offers to help Talos up. Fury points a gun at the soldier and shoots. Lo and behold, it's Gravik with a different skin. He stabs Talos, and we see him fall to the ground. Fury has to leave to protect the President, and we see Talos' body laid out among the carnage.

But is there a chance he could have pulled a fake out, like his daughter G'iah? Here's what we know.

Did Talos Really Die in Secret Invasion in Episode 4?

The evidence for Talos' actual death is strong. Like other Skrulls we've seen die, he reverts back to his original form, meaning he can no longer take his human form. Plus, unlike the fast cutaway with G'iah, the camera lingers on Talos, much like it did with Maria Hill, which could be a hint that one of our lead characters has taken a true exit.

On the other hand, we didn't see him bleed out. And as one of the leads of the show alongside Samuel L. Jackson, it would be a bold move for Marvel to take out Talos with two episodes (33% of the show) remaining.

It's possible he's a lot stronger than we think he is, or there could be other factors at play that bring him from the brink of death (maybe G'iah can give him a Super Skrull procedure before it's too late?). The show did tell us not to trust anyone. There's no telling what the next two episodes will have in store for us.
