McDonald's Is Bringing Back a Fan-Favorite Menu Item With a Twist

McDonald's snack wraps are finally returning to menus nationwide—at least, one variation of the fan-favorite entrée will be.

According to statements made by Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald's USA, the beloved burger joint will be introducing the McCrispy Wrap, which, although it's not an exact replica of the original snack wraps that debuted in 2006, is very close.

Erlinger shared in a news release that the company has "plans to offer McCrispy in nearly all markets around the world by the end of 2025, and to expand McCrispy into wraps and tenders."

Several versions of the McCrispy Wrap are currently available in Canada and most feature seasoned chicken topped with shredded lettuce and "mayo-style" sauce, all wrapped in a soft white flour tortilla.

Since disappearing from McDonald's menus in 2016, its competitors—Wendy's, Burger King and KFC—have all tried to recreate the famed snack wrap, but if you ask any Golden Arches loyalists, if it's not from Mickey D's, it's not a snack wrap.

The grand news follows another big venture by McDonald's, as the company revealed it will also be sizing up its burgers in certain markets.

"In the US, in a number of markets, around the world, having a larger burger is an opportunity,” CEO Chris Kempczinski told CNN in an interview, noting that the bigger burgers are something consumers can "expect in the future."

In addition to bigger burgers, the fast-food joint is also expanding its presence with a whole new restaurant experience.

This past July, Kempczinski announced the company would open a spinoff eatery called CosMc's in Bolingbrook, Ill. The CEO also confirmed that more locations are expected to pop up in the coming months: "By the end of 2024, we plan to open approximately 10 CosMc's pilot locations, with more opportunities for mood-boosting escapes across the Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio metro areas."
