  • The Sun previously reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex allegedly gave their Frogmore Cottage neighbors a list of demands.

  • According to Private Eye, via a BuzzFeed reporter on Twitter, the list of rules for living next door to the royals was completely fabricated.

  • Apparently the so-called list was actually just a "spoof" produced by a local resident as a joke.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to have a difficult time in the British tabloids, and yet another piece of gossip about the couple has now been debunked.

In July, The Sun alleged that Meghan and Harry created a list of demands for their neighbors in Windsor. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in Frogmore Cottage, and The Sun claimed that royals set out rules for those living close by, including "don't pet or stroke their dogs, even if they come over to you" and "dont' ask to see baby Archie."

However, it's now been revealed that the list was merely a "spoof" created for comedy value by an individual living within the community. BuzzFeed UK reporter Mark Di Stefano tweeted, "Private Eye reveals The Sun’s big splash on Harry-Meghan’s demands was actually a spoof list handed out by a local resident. And the UK tabloids wonder why Harry hates the media."

Private Eyeis a British news and current affairs magazine published every other week. The excerpt shared on Twitter reads, "the list was a spoof organized by a very distinguished local resident fed up with the expanding bubble shielding H & M from reality and, far more importantly, restricting dog walkers' access. It was indeed handed out at a residents' meeting, but only as a joke."

It seems that a disgruntled neighbor's joke got taken entirely out of context, and the royals received a slew of abuse as a result.
