Meghan Markle, King Charles

As the British royal family endures a controversy regarding the release of Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival, the book by Omid Scobie that came out on Nov. 28, Meghan Markle seemed to subtly show support for King Charles III while out and about in Santa Barbara, California.

The 42-year-old was spotted walking in the sun in a black sweater, leggings and green baseball cap, but it's what was on her wrist that drew many people's attention. Markle was wearing a gift from her father-in-law Charles, a diamond tennis bracelet designed by Bentley & Skinner, as seen in photos shared by DailyMail.com.

Markle first debuted the bracelet the night before her wedding in England on May 18, 2018, paired with an elegant black dress, while the publication reported that she most recently wore it publicly in May 2023.

The choice of accessory led many to wonder if it was intentional as the royal family continues to deal with the scandal involving the book, which revealed the names of two royal family members who allegedly spoke about Markle and Prince Harry's son Archie's skin color before his birth.

The names were reportedly included in the Dutch translation of the book, while the individuals were not named in any other version. The book was quickly pulled from shelves in the Netherlands, with a revised version to come out on Dec. 8, according to a statement from the Dutch publishers.

While in Dubai for an event on Nov. 30, Charles spoke publicly for the first time since the book's release and subsequent issues. He told a reporter who asked about his well-being, "I’m all right very much, just about. Having had a rather ancient birthday recently recovering from the shock of that!"

Since then, the royal family appears to be continuing with their day-to-day activities, with no comments from any member of the family directly discussing the situation.
