Michigan Man and His Bros Save Choking Raccoon During a Bonfire and It Stays to Hang with Them

Genesee County resident William Messenger was hanging out with some friends in his backyard having a bonfire on Friday, June 14th, when he became a viral superstar after saving an unexpected guest from choking.

This unexpected guest was a raccoon.

Everything about this video that was uploaded by the TikTok account for @Alexptaszenski is amazing. From the raccoon just hanging out and being helped to William's friend suggesting "A little bit lower Bill!" TikTok users agree and one person said, "That raccoon going back to his buddies like “You are NOT going to believe what happened to me, guys.” Another person said, "That raccoon going back to his buddies like “You are NOT going to believe what happened to me, guys.” Someone else hilariously replied, "That poor raccoons walk of shame afterwards. He’s like “You’re a real one Bill, but I gotta go lay down somewhere.”

WCRZ interviewed William Messenger about his amazing raccoon encounter. They asked when he noticed that the raccoon was choking and he replied, "The raccoon wandered around for a good 10 minutes looking for food. We then noticed the raccoon on its hind legs with a weird look on its face.

We didn't know what was happening at first. Then, I realized the raccoon was choking. "That is when I started slapping its back, and the video started rolling."

They also asked if the raccoon was afraid of him and he replied, "At first, it was a little skittish but then the raccoon started to warm up to us. It was weird, the raccoon was acting as if it was domesticated.

At one point the raccoon climbed up my buddy John's leg, attempting to sit on his lap."

First of all, owning a raccoon as a pet may not even be legal where you live because it's only legal in 16 states, before you decide to get your own little trash panda, you have to do your research to find out if you can even have one in the state where you live. Your state may even require permits and special training to keep a raccoon as a pet.

Raccoons also need special veterinary care so you need to make sure your vet can care for an exotic animal.

Raccoons can be mischievous and can get into trouble when they are bored, and they are so smart that they require a lot of both physical and mental stimulation.

Raccoons are adorable and can be sweet and affectionate, you just have to make sure you are able to care for one before deciding to adopt one. They sure are cute though!
