Microchip your pet for free during this Fresno Animal Center event

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fourth of July is getting closer, and officials with the Fresno Animal Center encourage pet owners to microchip their pets before the holiday.

Officials with the animal center say they will be holding a free drive-thru microchipping event on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The event will also include free tags and collars for Fresno residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers say this is a great opportunity to help ensure animal safety for free. They also say microchipping your pets is extra important as the Fourth of July is around the corner, and animals are prone to escape with loud fireworks noises.
