Momcozy Nutri Bottle Warmer Review

When it came to beverage temperature, my youngest child could not have been pickier. That milk had better be served to her at exactly body temp, or a full-blown fight broke out. I didn’t have the Momcozy Nutri bottle warmer back then, but I sure wish I had. It’s a darn fine bottle warmer with the ability to heat breast milk, formula, regular milk, and even baby food from frozen to the perfect temperature in very little time, and it keeps it warm for up to an hour after it reaches the right temperature. If you’re having a baby or if you know someone who is, the Momcozy might be just what ’re looking for.

The Basics

The Nutri is basically the modern, more convenient — not to mention safer — version of heating a bottle on the stove in a water bath. It’s a freestanding warmer that you pour water into, add the bottle or storage bag, and turn on. It’s pretty simple but also very high-tech at the same time. It heats the milk evenly, making sure that the temperature of the milk never gets so high that nutrients are compromised.

The machine is compatible with hundreds of different bottles and milk storage bags, and at under $50, it’s one of the best-priced bottle warmers out there. The display buttons are intuitive and easy to use. Simply choose your vessel (plastic bottle or glass bottle?), what you’re heating, and what temp it is when you begin, and it heats it quickly and evenly. The Momcozy Nutri is also one of the quietest bottle warmers I’ve tested (this is per my husband, as I am hard of hearing).

How I Tested

I used this bottle warmer with two different bottles — a Dr. Brown’s bottle and a Mam Easy Start. They are two of the most popular bottles on the market, so they’re perfect as controls. I also tested it with Motif breast milk storage bags. I put regular cow's milk in all of them for continuity because wasting formula is a no-go for my ethics. (Milk, on the other hand, is great in tea.)

I used room-temperature milk, milk from the fridge, and milk directly from the freezer. I also froze avocados in the Baby Brezza reusable food storage bags to see how the warmer performed with warming up solids. Overall, it did a wonderful job and did exactly what it purported to do. I especially like the nightlight feature that allows you to warm bottles without turning on a bunch of lights to do so. At ohmygosh o’clock, when you’re bleary-eyed and exhausted, you don’t need those lumens scalding your vision.

Results

All of the milk and food I tested with this bottle warmer was heated evenly, though there is a notable difference between the milk from frozen and from the fridge and room temperature. I was especially impressed at how fast the solid food came to temperature from frozen and that there were no pockets of frozen avocado or hot avocado around the edges like you would get if you were to microwave it. It takes about five minutes to heat frozen food as opposed to the three minutes it takes to heat it from the fridge. It was all smooth, guacamole temperature.

My only issue with the warmer is that there’s no good way to adjust how it tells you the milk and food are done. It alerts you once, and then it’s done (if there’s a way to adjust it, I haven’t figured it out).

The Wrap Up

After a great deal of testing, I think that this water bath-style bottle warmer from Momcozy would be an excellent addition to your household. It also makes a great gift to new parents, making those unavoidable middle-of-the-night feeds a little more tolerable. It’s unobtrusive, easy to operate, affordable, and accurate. You won’t have to worry about hot spots in baby’s milk or food, and you can operate the simple controls even when you can’t remember your own name from exhaustion. It’s an affordable parenting product and something that will streamline feeds for your little one.
