The Moorpark High School class of 2024 filed into the campus football stadium Thursday evening for commencement as loved ones packing the bleachers.

Senior speaker Delilah Sichmeller seized on the cohort's unique experience starting high school in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Let's reflect on the extraordinary nature of graduating after our lives were disrupted by unprecedented challenges and upheaval," she said. "While it is disheartening to think of the time we lost, this experience is the reason we are so adaptable, well-rounded and equipped to tackle anything that lies ahead."

Green and gold streamers rained down as the ceremony drew to a close.
