News 19 staff volunteers at the Greater Huntsville Humane Society for Founder’s Day of Caring 2024

Every year, News 19 participates in the Founder’s Day of Caring, a day where teams from each Nexstar Media Group, Inc. station help a local charity or organization in their area.

The News 19 team celebrated 28 years of Nexstar while volunteering with the Greater Huntsville Humane Society at both their shelter and thrift store.

GHHS was established in 1969 and is financially supported by generous private donors, grants and local partnerships. They offer several programs and initiatives, including King’s Community Kitchen and Pet Wellness Clinics, which will be returning this year.

Three Tails ReSale is the GHHS thrift store. It offers a unique shopping experience for the entire community while also supporting the animals who call the shelter home.

You can find information on how to volunteer by clicking this link. GHHS also has a list of many adoptable pets for you to choose from by clicking here.
