After four years of waiting since the game was first teased, Pokémon Sleep gameplay has officially emerged, although it's not a game in the traditional sense like the popular Pokémon Go.

Instead, as its name might suggest, Pokémon Sleep is a gamified sleep-tracking app with various achievement and collectible experiences built in.

As a user tracks their sleep with the app, their score increases, enabling Snorlax to gain "drowsy power." Over time, other tired Pokémon appear and gift users rare sleep styles that are accumulated in the "Sleep Style Dex" section of the app.

Pokémon Sleep also features a few side activities or quirks, like feeding Snorlax berries and drinks that slowly increase a user's bond with the notoriously sleepy pocket monster.

Like other sleeping apps, Pokémon Sleep offers sleep aid programs, including one called "Singing Sleep" style, in which Jigglypuff lulls users off to sleep with song.

While the app doesn't connect to third-party health apps, it does pair with the Pokémon Go Plus bracelet, allowing for sleep sessions to be started with the push of a button. As a bonus, users who do activate their sessions with the bracelet will receive increased odds of a rare nightcap-clad Pikachu visiting them.
