South Bend's Indiana Dinosaur Museum set to open July 12. Here's what you need to know.

SOUTH BEND ― After more than two years of development, the Indiana Dinosaur Museum complex on the west side of the city will open its doors to the public on July 12.

The museum, which was developed by South Bend Chocolate Co. founder Mark Tarner, is located on a 90-acre parcel at 7102 Lincoln Way W. at the U.S. 20 bypass.

Besides the dinosaur museum, the complex includes the new South Bend Chocolate Co. factory, a Public House restaurant and a market, as well as free hiking, picnic areas, a scenic overlook and a bison viewing area for the public to enjoy. Officials believe the new venue could attract 150,000 visitors a year.

Tarner said Friday that the complex will be open seven days a week, but they're still in the process of determining admission prices to the museum and hours of operation.
