Oregon Humane Society reintroduces walk-in adoptions at Portland campus

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The Oregon Humane Society has some amazing news for Portlanders looking for a fur-ever friend.

Walk-in adoptions are back at the OHS Portland campus after years of requiring appointments since the 2020 pandemic. Starting June 1, all adoptions will be walk-in only unless the pet is part of the shelter’s Behavior Modification Program.

“We hope this change will help pets…spend less time in the shelter and find their loving home quicker,” the humane society said in a post on social media.

Adoptable dogs and cats are available to view on the Oregon Humane Society’s website.
